Allude Boyfriend Sweater

New York, March 5, 2008 – On Thursday I woke up to a 7-degree wind chill with a call for flurries in the evening. Yesterday I woke up to grey skies, but a balmy 61 degrees. What’s a girl to wear in this weather when you’re sick of all your winter gear and itching for spring? Not to mention the climate in every building you enter either hasn’t turned down the heat on the warm days or has the air-conditioner running during a cold snap.
Every year about this time, I got through this very same thing. I hate everything I’ve been wearing for the past four months and even though I’ve already bought a few spring items, it’s still too cold to wear them. This year is different though since I’ve been using the Mick Margo “warehouse” as my go to closet to battle the winter clothing blues. Layering has become so important since I never know if I’ll be hot or cold and my go to outfit has become the Alexander Wang silk tank under the Allude Boyfriend Sweater. The Allude knits are perfect right now because the cashmere is so lightweight, but still keeps you warm and the pop of color from Alex Wang just brightens my day and makes me think of spring.
Demy Lee also has some great transitional options with the Ami Long Cardigan and Jack Pullover, both in super soft and super lightweight cashmere. The Ami will be with me through the crisp June nights and easily the first thing I pull out for a cool September evening. And the Jack Pullover is just a great casual piece that’s perfect for the flip-flopping weather with its short sleeves.
I also have a tendency to wear something I like over and over again, so here’s hoping I don’t do that with my new transitional pieces. Either way, I’m still itching to wear all my new spring dresses (Minden Chan’s Inset Dress and Hache’s Tie Front Dress, among them) and may have to make a trip down south for an excuse. – Cary Weekes
